WWII Smith & Wesson Lend-Lease M&P Victory 38 S&W 5 Inch Revolver

Serial #V150641, .38 S&W (.38/200), 5 inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore.  This is the Lend-Lease M&P Victory Model revolver manufactured by Smith & Wesson proofed “P” on the butt with “W.B.” acceptance mark marking production sometime in Mid to late 1942 and has the “United States Property” marked on the top left strap.  It likely saw use in Europe during the war and has “WH 089” marking on the bottom left grip and was imported back into the US by Simpson Ltd which is marked on the inside frame covered by the crane when closed.  In very fine condition the parkerized finish is about 85-90% intact with loss around the muzzle and other high edges from holster wear and use.  The trigger and hammer show much of the original case-hardened color.  The plain walnut grips are intact showing tiny chip at the bottom front right edge and other mild contusions and scratches with the original lanyard attached that has been bent into a D-ring.  Mechanically it times and locks up properly.  An excellent example of an important secondary pistol provided by the US to its allies in WWII.  FFL or C&R
