Antique British Greene Carbine Lock Mechanism

This is a complete lock with hammer, side door, and Maynard tape priming mechanism. The metal retains 90% plus of the bright, original color case-hardened finish that has only faded to gray slightly along the edges and along the surface of the primer door where it comes in contact with the rotating latch. The strawed and nitre blued lock parts are still bright and fully functional. Crisp markings, including the "(crown)/VR" cypher, are present. This is a great lock mechanism and is in excellent condition with lots of original finish remaining Both original screws were broken off inside the lock and will have to be "easy out" to use. This may be why the lock survived in such great condition.
