Canadian Full Dress Tunic Edmonton Regt.

This is a privately tailored late 1950's scarlet serge tunic with white piping and edging and pale blue on the stand collar. Pale blue epaulettes are present at the shoulders fastened by Edmonton Regiment buttons and there are small trefoil galloons at the pale blue cuffs. Embroidered bullion Sergeant's chevrons are present on the right sleeve. The fabric is in fine condition but there is some slight tattering along the collar fabric as well as a few bits of loose thread here and there along the front (which has a full complement of highly polished buttons). The red silk interior lining is in fine shape with a few very small tears near the hem as well as a prominent black maker's label on the inside of the right breast, "HENRY SINGER/LTD./EDMONTON-ALTA." An additional small label is present on the inside of the breast pocket, "TAILORED ESPECIALLY FOR/Mr. DON HEPBURN/Date Feb/56...Order No. 35011A/Henry Singer Ltd." (an additional handwritten name is present on the label, "T. STEVENSON"). This is an attractive uniform tunic and would make a nice addition to a collection.
