Starr Cartridge Cavalry Carbine Lock Mechanism

This is a complete lock with hammer, mainspring, and sear. The metal retains 90% plus of the bright, original color case-hardened finish that has faded to bright gray along the edges. Some mild spots of dark freckling are present on the hammer and the nitre blue on the hammer screw is still bright with some mild wear to bright gray. Nitre blue remains on the interior lock screws as well (one of the saddle screws appears to have been staked or peened). Crisp markingsare still present. This is a great lock mechanism and is in excellent condition with lots of original finish remaining.
