WW2 German Officers Dress Bayonet with Scabbard and Frog

This is a German WWII Wehrmacht Officers Dress Bayonet with Scabbard. This bayonet has a 9 ??" unsharpened nickel plated blade with a fuller to each side. The Eickorn Solingen produced blade is in excellent condition with light scabbard marks and almost no signs of age. The leather washer at guard is original to bayonet. The bayonet has a nickel plated, alloy, crossguard with one up-swept arm, and a stylized eagle head pommel. The hilt fittings all retain about 90% of their original nickel finish, showing typical dulled age plating with minor surface scrapes and scratches. The handle has diamond grooved, molded, black bakelite grips which are secured to the hilt by two small dome headed rivets. The red foam inserted slot, stylized eagle head pommel and stud button are intact and functions, bottom shows wear. The bayonet comes complete with an original, black, oval tipped, scabbard with most of the original finish. The black frog is in excellent condition with a few scattered scratches and light age fading. Over-all an excellent example of the Wehrmacht Dress bayonet.
