WW2 USAAF Type G-1 Crew Oxygen Tank for B-17 and B-24 Bombers

This is a cylindrical aluminum tank with rounded ends measuring approximately 24" in length, and 12" in width, having encircling bands and six longitudinal reinforcing ribs around the circumference. The domed ends have a central connector (one male, one female) and has retained about 80-85% of the flaked original yellow paint finish with stenciled black USAAF inventory markings: "BREATHING / OXYGEN", and "NONSHATTERABLE / LOW PRESSURE / OXYGEN CYLINDER / TYPE G1 SPEC 94.40320 B / INTERNAL VOLUME 2100 / CUBIC INCHES AVAILABLE / OXYGEN FROM 400 TO / 50 LBS PER SQ. INCH / PRESSURE IS 29 CUBIC FEET". The tank weighs 18 lbs. 10 oz., and is in very good condition overall. It is a neat, and unusual piece of WW2 aviation history.
