Original Wooden Snider Ammo Cartridge Box 1867
This sturdily built cartridge box has a sliding cover with black printed yellow label. "V/Boxer Ammunition /for .577 bore/Snider rifles/cartridges 500." Some of the Ink stamp marks are "Rifle F.C.4", "BSG 4,10,67". Punch marks are "T broad arrow A" W broad arrow D", amongst others. The carry handle is a spliced rope. Case appears to be made of oak fastened with slot head brass wood screws and copper nails. This is a very early and scarce box with the 1867 date.
