Scarce Snider Rifle 577 Blank Ammo Boxer Cartridge Packet Pattern II 1868

This is a full twine wrapped ammunition packet, 10 original rounds, of .577 Blank Boxer Cartridges for the Snider Rifle with a packet date of 1868.  The packet is specifically marked "Cartridge Boxer Blank for Snider Rifle .577 inch Bore Pattern II".  The pattern II blank was issued for only 3-4 years before a third type was developed.  The charge was 70 grains of black powder that was compressed into a pellet, in a paper covering which had animal wool above.  A very scarce full ammo packet that remains intact with original twine and showing some unraveling on the top side allowing a tiny peek into the packet with writing very clearly shown that will make for a great display item with your Snider Rifle.
