Fine US Model 1866 Trapdoor Rifle (2nd Model Allin Conversion)

NSN, .50 CF, 36 5/8" barrel with a good bore that has some minor freckling and pitting towards the breech.  This is a handsome gun that retains 90-92% of the original dark, oil-quenched finish on the breechblock assembly, while the 1865 dated lock, barrel, and furniture have a mostly pewter gray patina that has some tiny areas of mild freckling in spots.  The block and lock are functional and extremely clean on the inside.   The walnut stock is in very good condition after taking a very light sanding.  It has scattered surface scratches and blemishes throughout the original military oil finish, heaviest on the buttstock.  The "HSH" cartouche is still crisp and clear on the left side of the stock (Henry S. Hill, Springfield Inspector).  The rifle comes with an original metal ramrod and rates in fine condition overall.  Antique
