Spanish American War 45 Caliber Cartridge Belt

This 45 loop belt has sewn on loops and is 45 inches long and 3 inches wide with 2 1/8 inch loops. Belt has unmarked ends with unique Hulbert Brothers style full loop captive wire ends. Belt has no eyelets, however Mills style sheet brass slides are mounted. A Mills style belt plate catch is mounted on one end, no belt plate is present. Belt has three dark stripes woven into body and loops. Belt shows use with light wear and light soiling. These 45 loop belts were built for skinny soldiers. A similar belt is shown on page 326 of Dorsey's American Military and Naval Belts 1812-1902.
