Original Civil War Named Leather Waist Belt & U.S. Lead Filled Buckle

This is a Civil War U.S. Leather Waist Belt of bridle leather with an oval "U.S." die stamped plate with the lead lined back having no makers mark. The outer leather has and overall light crazed appearance with light flaking along the top and bottom edges. On the inside face of the belt is written "S R Jackman" which may match 1 of 5 men in the personnel directory from the civil war. Four served in the army and one in the navy. This complete, named example in very good condition overall and will add to any collection.
