Original WWI Italian Vetterli M1870/87 Shortened Bayonet with Scabbard

This is an original Italian Vetterli M1870 that was Shortened to a blade length of 9 1/2" in WWI. This example has the long leaf spring that was later in the war replaced with a short spring. The blade retains most of the upgraded finish as does the other metal parts. The original markings on the ricasso was removed when shortened but the guard is marked PL 4084. Over-all condition is good+. The scabbard is also cut down from an original. The near excellence leather is stamped "A.C.T. 1899", tight stitching with good condition brass topmount and chape.
