Rev War Era British Sea Service Flintlock Pistol
NSN, .59 Caliber, 12" barrel with a good, lightly pitted bore. This is a nice looking pistol that has a mottled plum-brown patina along the barrel with some light-moderate pitting at the breech, heaviest around the vent. The "TOWER" and "(Crown) / GR" marked lock has a mottled gray and brown patina, with darker brown at the front of the lockplate, pan, and frizzen. The jaws of the cock likewise have a dark brown patina with thin silvering along the projecting edges. The lock is fully functional and locks firmly at both half and full-cock. The pin-fastened walnut stock has numerous small handling marks and minor blemishes in the reapplied military oil finish, and there some minor chips and drying cracks around the edges of the lockplate, and a further crack that starts on the right side just above the ramrod thimble and continues up the channel to the tip of the forend. The brass furniture has a dark ochre patina throughout, although the has additional tool marks throughout, and the belt hook is no longer present. A slightly too-short plain wooden ramrod is included. This is a great looking Rev War era British Sea Service pistol, and is in good condition overall. Antique
