US Model 1872 Hanger No. 2 Leather Cartridge Box 45-70 "R.I.M."

This is a US Model 1872 Hanger No. 2 leather Cartridge box with bored wood insert for .45-70 cartridges. This classic Indian Wars cartridge box is embossed "R.I.M." on the front flap and is marked from "Watervliet Arsenal" on the back. The pouch is in very good condition with dried and crazed but intact leather with two solid belt loops in the back and front closure flap. The stepped wood insert is solid. Traces of verdigris are visible on the brass components. An authentic Indian Wars relic that will display well with your Trapdoor rifle.
