WWI French M1892 Second Pattern Modified W/Scabbard/Frog

This is an excellent example of a WWI French M1892 Second Pattern Modified W/Scabbard/Frog. These M1892 were modified by removing the hook from the guard for WWI. This is a second pattern with the extended muzzle ring out onto the handle. This 15 5/8" unsharpened blade shines and looks near new with no apparent blemishes with proofs on the ricasso. The modified guard is stamped with #18969 and near void of any oxidation as is the pommel. The scales on the handle are also in excellent condition. This comes with an original black painted metal scabbard # 22478 with only light scuffing with no apparent dents and outstanding leather frog with tight stitching and supple leather.
