Canadian Army Uniform Grouping (Korean War Era)
This grouping consists of two items: First is a men's two pocket battedress jacket (size 9) in somewhat coarse olive-brown worsted with button front and buckle closure on the hem. Unit patches are present on the shoulders, "CARLETON & YORK/CANADA" and the shoulder straps have the red-backed rank pips of an infantry Captain embroidered in colored thread. The jacket is in excellent shape and has an intact olive green cloth lining with a full complement of uniform buttons and a clear maker's stamp on the interior, "Master Craft Uniform Co. Reg'd" dated October 1949. Second are a pair of worsted battledress trousers, also in fine condition, that appear un-issued and have a slightly faded ink stamp on the dark khaki linen interior lining (maker is "MARITIME PANT MFG. CO.", and the date is June but the day and year are illegible). This is a fine uniform ensemble and would make a nice piece for display.
