WW2 U.S. Army Field Telephone Leather case
A WWII U.S. Army Signal Corps field telephone with leather carry case. The leather is stamped on the front "Signal Corps U.S. Army/Telephone EE-8-A". The phone set is marked inside the handle "TS-9-T". The unit is marked on the top "Remove batteries when not in use". The space for batteries appears to be the size of 2 AA's. The carry case measures 8 3/8" wide by 10" wide X 4 " deep. The phone cord is a crumbling mess maker. Used as a local or central set. For reference see page 201 in "Government Issue Collector's Guide" by Henri-Paul Enjames. The leather is dry and the carry handle is broken and needs a replacement.
