Civil War Johnson & Dow 58 Caliber Minnie Ball “Skin” Cartridge Non-Dug
This is an original live .58 Caliber Minnie Ball “Skin” combustible cartridge manufactured by Johnson & Dow with a patented “skin” or combustible cartridge case that was pasted to the three groove bullet. Made by attaching a paper or fabric material to the bullet which was then coated making it waterproof. The non-dug cartridge remains in near excellent condition with an intact powder charge and some bullet lube & lead oxidation.
