Spanish Sword for Infantry Officer Model 1867. Dated in 1874. Spain

The blade is made of steel with a straight and stylized design, showing dull gray patina with signs of light oxidation and very good condition, though being almost 150 years old. Close to the hilt on the ricasso we can see the inscription TOLEDO, obverse, 1874, corresponding to the Spanish city where the weapon factory was located together with the date of manufacture. The hilt is made of polished brass and is decorated with hand-engraved motifs depicting shields, laurel wreaths and volutes. The quillon which trims the cross-guard is shaped as a dogs head. All these details turn this sword into a highly decorative piece, full of interest for any collector.
