Swiss Infantry Hanger by "WAFFENFABRIK / NEUHAUSEN"

This is a handy short saber that measures 28 3/4" overall, with a 23 1/2"curved single-edged blade with a long single fuller. The steel has an overall dull silver patina with some very light freckling on one side. The ricasso is marked only with the makers name, "WAFFENFABRIK / NEUHAUSEN" with the reverse blank. The hilt has a single forward-swept quillon, knucklebow, shagreen grip with intact braided wire, but some are loose, with dove head pommel. This saber is housed in it's original steel and leather scabbard with light scuffs, tight stitching and nice patina. This is a very good, seldom seen Swiss hanger, and would make a nice addition to a collection.
