Excellent Mills Woven 100 Round Prairie Cart Belt 30-40 Krag Span-Am W

This is an original, Mills Prairie 1894 Cartridges belt for the .30-40 Krag rifle cartridges marked Mills & Orndorff with 6 different patent dates. The Spanish American War period belt has the patented Mills woven (not attached) double shell loops with brass "C" closure and brass waist adjustment slide keepers. There are 50 double shell loops to hold 100 total rounds. Both brass belt tip ends are riveted to the web material and are clearly stamped, "Pat. Mills & Orndorff, Aug. 26; 67, July 31; 77, Dec. 28; 80, Mar. 19; 89, Oct. 31; 93, Sep. 11; 94."The belt shows slight age fading on the fabric and mild tarnish spots on the brass but is otherwise solid and in excellent condition. A very nice belt for the collector.
